What is a crisis?
That's a good question. A crisis is when something bad is happening. so we need a plan called a crisis plan. What's a crisis plan is a good question to ask. Its a plan help organize, discipline and fix difficult situations in the schools. Thought the year I will teach you some of the emergency procedures needed to learn how to be safe. Some of the things will be fire drills (figure 1), tornado drills and what do in case of an emergency. These tasks can be called crisis management. This is a schools way to provide safety which
focuses more on a time-limited problem based situations that and resolve the crisis, restore calmness, and support
fast responses. The faster a problem is solved the easier it is to get class back in order.
Types of crisis
There are different types of school crises to determine in a situation. Theses are good to know when something bad is happening so you can remember procedures better. The First one is a natural disaster this is when mother nature makes it dangerous out side. In this case we use one of our drills to leave or hide. Second on is confrontation. This is when two people argue, misbehave or don't follow rules. I would or the Principle would give out a punishment to whoever misbehaved. Third is violence, this is when someone gets hurt though physical action. The security guard would help in that situation to stop whose ever doing the hurting. The goal is to keep you safe from any harm or interruptions.
One person cant keep the whole school safe, so we need group of people to care out the crisis plans. A crisis management plan requires this team of heroes to help maintain safe environments. This team consists of a teacher, the superintendent, law enforcement, your school counselors and the principle. They come together and think of a different procedures they could use to solve a problem. Some permanent procedures would actually become rules and regulations. This team could also use your help as a teachers helper.
What is a teachers helper?
Awesome question! If you are a student who likes to help out then this is for you. A teachers helper is someone who helps the teacher in various ways (figure 2). You can hand out papers, turn off lights, lead a line, close doors, wipe off the board or go get items for the teacher outside the classroom. This cuts down the teachers workload, teaches responsibility and has better class efficiency.
So today we learned what a crisis is and what a crisis plan is and how to manage it. We also learned who maintains this plan and the different types of crisis. last be not least we showed how you could help.
