Super Camera Saves the Day!

 
 
      Hey kids!  My name is Scott, the security camera. I watch over you and protect you in school. I look for bad guys that are not allowed to be in school so you are safe. I also make sure that you are safe walking in the halls and playing at recess.  I like to think of myself as the superhero of the school.     

My job is very fun. I am called a security camera.  A security camera is used to watch an area and to keep it safe (1). I hang on a wall all day and watch school students as they walk by.  I notice a lot of things so, I know when something is not right.  When I see a bad person, I record what they are doing on my footage.  My footage is like watching a movie.  It is watched on a television screen after putting in the DVD. Then, it is viewed by the police for danger (1). Here is a story of a time when I had to deal with a bad guy. 

  

     One day, Bad Guy Bob, pictured at the right, came into the school I was watching. As I was watching the kids in the hallway, I noticed a stranger walking with them. I knew this guy, it was Bad Guy Bob. Bob was at school before bullying the students. He was not allowed to be walking the halls by himself or in school.  He was told never to come back to school, or he would get in big trouble. The last time he was here, he was caught making fun of a girl for being short. I let the office know that Bob was picking on her and they told him that he was not allowed to come here ever again. 

 I also keep kids safe if someone falls in the hall and no one is around to help them.  I can let the nurse know that a child fell, so she can go and help them. I keep you safe if a stray cat or dog comes in school when the door is open. I know most of you love animals, but it is not safe for you to be around animals that you do not know. I also work on the playground to keep you safe. I make sure no one gets hurt while playing at recess.

     My family has always worked to help keep people safe. 

That is why I wanted to work in schools.  My brother and dad work in a high school keeping kids safe. My mother and sister work at a grocery store. They keep customers and workers safe like the people in the picture above.

    At the end of my work day, I always feel great.  I love keeping kids safe and catching bad guys. I'm sure some kids don't like having me in school, but other kids love having me in school.  They may not see me all of the time, but I am always there watching over them.
